Thais wear black as they mourn late princess

Thais wore black as they mourned the late Princess, who died last week after spending almost four years in a coma.
Thousands waited for hours outside the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital as the princess's body was transported in a funeral procession to the Grand Palace on June 13.
Footage shows residents black lining the streets of Bangkok on June 13, with families waiting on mats along the pavement.
Mourners were seen holding portraits of the late royal, Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, as they endured the heat.
Officials from state agencies, including police, military personnel, city officials, public health workers, volunteers and rescue teams, worked to maintain security and order throughout the day.
The princess died peacefully at the age of 47 at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital at 7.48 pm on June 11.
She had been hospitalised since December 15, 2022, after collapsing from a heart-related condition while training her pet dog in Nakhon Ratchasima the previous day.
Since May 21, the medical team had been closely monitoring her condition due to a severe infection that remained uncontrolled and affected the function of several major organ systems.
Doctors detected an abdominal infection caused by inflammation of the large intestine in April.
Her condition subsequently became unstable, resulting in low blood pressure, an irregular heartbeat, and abnormal blood clotting.
Her health gradually deteriorated until her passing. The Thai King has commanded the Bureau of the Royal Household to arrange royal funeral rites with the highest honours.
Her remains will lie in state at Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall in the Grand Palace at Bangkok.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha was the eldest daughter of the King and his first cousin, Princess Soamsawali Krom Muen Suddhanarinatha.
