Resident seriously injured when gas tank explodes

A woman suffered severe burns to her face and body when a gas tank exploded in her home in Thailand.
The female resident was preparing dinner when she turned on the gas valve at around 6pm local time on August 18.
Moments later, a blast ripped through the property when the cylinder suddenly exploded.
Neighbours were shocked as the injured woman ran outside covered in burns and screaming for help.
Medics and rescuers rushed to the home in Chiang Mai, where they found the resident with extensive burns across her face and body, but still able to talk.
She was given first aid and rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.
Footage shows smoke filling her kitchen, where pots and dishes were in disarray.
Officers entered through the shattered glass door and doused the still-smouldering kitchen equipment with water.
Firefighters said the cause of the blast remains unclear.
Officials were investigating whether the blast was caused by a gas leak, faulty equipment, a damaged hose or another issue.
