Naked man picked up by police as he walks through village..
A naked man was picked up by police as he wandered through a village in eastern Thailand.
Wuth, 56, was seen talking to himself while walking unclothed along Sukhumvit Road in Trat province on May 27.
Alarmed locals called police when they saw the man ambling on the roadside with his privates exposed.
Footage shows Wuth sauntering barefoot across the hot pavement. He was holding a plastic bag in one hand and a small bag was slung across his body.
Police and rescue workers arrived to find him in a distressed state, claiming someone was following and threatening to shoot him.
They handed him a shirt and some underwear before ushering him into an ambulance.
Cops said they were already familiar with Wuth due to repeated incidents involving public drunkenness, begging, and sleeping on the streets near a convenience store in the area.
An officer at the local police station said: 'He told us he had previously suffered a brain injury which left him unable to work, causing him severe stress. He admitted he sometimes had thoughts of harming himself, but police and rescue workers had always stepped in to help him.
'This is behaviour we have seen from him many times before, so officers are quite familiar with him. Kind-hearted locals had even bought him new clothes like shirts and trousers.'
Rescuers later took him back to his home nearby, and asked neighbours to help keep watch over him due to concerns for his safety.
